Palco Forum Viseu
STORIES
Palco Forum Viseu
Palco Forum Viseu returned in July to turn the shopping centre into a stage again, not for products, but for experiences. Already a summer fixture in the city, the 2026 edition brought together two nights designed by alcateia. One of music, one of comedy, each with its own identity, a considered programme and the right artists.
Because a shopping centre can also be the place where a city comes together.

How do you turn a shopping centre into a cultural destination the city already expects every year?
Shopping centres compete every summer for the same free time. Concerts and comedy nights multiply in every Portuguese city. The challenge isn’t filling an events calendar. It’s giving people a real reason to choose this night. And come back next year for the next one, in this same place.
THE CHALLENGE
Continuing couldn’t mean repeating.
It had to mean consistency.
Palco Forum Viseu is no longer a novelty. It’s an established fixture. Since 2024, alcateia has produced Palco Forum Viseu, with names like David Fonseca, Domingues and Azeitonas on the bill. That’s both an advantage and a risk: there’s a loyal audience to live up to. And a bar that rises with every edition.
THE VISION
A stage is only as strong as the names behind it.
“Aqui acontece” (“Here it happens”) is the idea behind every choice. You don’t schedule a concert or a comedy show out of routine. You programme a night with a point of view. A line-up that stands on its own, a set design that serves whoever’s on stage. A real reason to leave the house.
THE SOLUTION
Two nights, two formats, one language.
On the music night, Bela Noia opens the show with an intimate performance. Between the opening act and the closing concert, magician and mentalist Gustavo Gil takes the stage to fill the transition. A live event can’t have dead time. Only then does Tiago Bettencourt close the night with an emotional concert. Built on songs that already belong to the collective memory of different generations.
On the comedy night, Maria Rueff takes the stage as taxi driver Zé Manel. She isn’t a host reading from a script: she’s the thread running through the night, opening, introducing and closing every moment. Joana Miranda and Luana do Bem take the stage with their own sets, no intervals. A show built for rhythm from start to finish.
Considered lighting, a stage close to the audience, end-to-end production: alcateia handled artist booking, set design, sound and lighting, logistics and coordination for both nights.
THE IMPACT
We don’t measure success only in sold-out capacity. Still, one thing helps tell the story: both nights filled up again.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to offer free moments of culture and entertainment, accessible to the whole community, and to help make Viseu an increasingly dynamic and culturally active destination,” says Catarina Mané, Director of Forum Viseu.

A stage with no dead time.
Between the opening act and the headliner, between one joke and the next, every minute of the programme was considered. A live show isn’t measured only by the names on the bill. It’s also measured by what happens in between them. That’s the kind of detail alcateia treats as part of the show, just as much as the rest.
